ROOFING

Shingle roofing

START WITH THE DETAILS

What goes into
the work.

Use measured roof surface area or a reliable roof report, not the home’s floor area. Record pitch, stories, layers, edges and penetrations.

Typical scope to confirm

  • Verify roof slope and deck suitability
  • Define underlayment, starter, ridge and edge details
  • Install selected shingles to their product instructions
  • Coordinate penetrations, flashing and ventilation

Make it specific to your project.

Enter the amount of work and choose the details you know. Your choices follow you into the Project Builder.

LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH REFERENCE

Low$4per sq ft
Middle$5per sq ft
High$6per sq ft

Low and high are published reference endpoints. Middle is their arithmetic midpoint, not a quoted average, product tier or firm price.

Match the reference scope first
  • Confirm Roof system before applying this reference to your quantity. The displayed rate is architectural asphalt shingles, not three-tab or other roof materials.
  • Confirm Work before applying this reference to your quantity. These roof-coverage rates do not price repair, tie-ins, flashing or ventilation as equivalent work.

The figures above remain the source reference. They do not price these selections or a complete installed project.

A planning reference for this service only. Selections, local labor, access, quantities and existing conditions need Coastal’s review. Do not add overlapping whole-project and component ranges.

PERMIT PLANNING

Check the scope and jurisdiction

OKC requires a reroofing permit when work on an existing one- or two-family home exceeds 500 sq ft; altered rafters or ridge beams need a building permit. Norman’s asphalt-shingle FAQ says roofing itself needs no permit. Confirm the address and structural scope.

  • OKC reroofing over 500 sq ft
  • Replacement or alteration of structural roof members
  • Edmond substantial roof replacement; minor shingle repairs have an exception

ENGINEERING & DESIGN

Engineering is not usually needed

Engineering is not usually part of this finish-only scope. Stop for review if hidden damage, structural changes or unusual support loads are found.

  • New structural work or damaged framing
  • Unverified heavy-load support

Confirm requirements with the city or county responsible for the property before work begins. The address, exact scope and adopted code determine the final requirements.
